These terms govern every order placed with NorthScientific, a trading name of KF01 LTD (company number 17130830). Nothing in them affects your statutory rights.
Every material supplied by NorthScientific is for laboratory research use only. Nothing we sell is a medicine, a food, a cosmetic or a supplement. It is not for human or veterinary consumption, and it is not for diagnostic or therapeutic use.
NorthScientific is a trading name of KF01 LTD, a company registered in England and Wales, company number 17130830, registered office Office 9600, 321–323 High Road, Romford, England, RM6 6AX. These terms apply to every order placed through northscientific.co.uk; the version published when you order is the version that applies.
If you buy as a consumer, you keep every right the law gives you, whatever these terms say.
We supply research organisations, educational and commercial laboratories, and individuals purchasing for legitimate research purposes. By ordering you confirm that you are at least 18 years old, that you are competent to handle laboratory reagents, and that the materials will be used solely for research. We deliver within the United Kingdom only.
You agree that you will not administer any material supplied by us to a human or an animal, and will not resell, repackage or supply it for that purpose. You are responsible for using the materials safely and lawfully, and for determining their suitability for your intended research.
We provide no guidance on dosing, protocols, routes, schedules or quantities for any living subject, and we cannot answer questions of that kind.
We make no representation that any material will produce any physiological, therapeutic, cosmetic or performance outcome. Information we publish is limited to what a material is — name, format and fill weight, and where established its sequence and identifiers.
We describe each material by name, format and fill weight, and publish its sequence or identifiers where those are established. We do not currently publish independent third-party analysis for the material we hold, and we make no representation as to its purity beyond the description given. If that changes we will say so on the product page.
The price shown for each product is the total price payable: where VAT applies it is included, and UK delivery is included unless a charge is clearly shown at checkout. Payment is taken at checkout through Stripe; we never see or store your card details.
Your order is an offer to buy. A contract is formed when we confirm dispatch. We may decline an order — for example where stock, payment or eligibility checks fail — and if payment has been taken we will refund it in full. If a price is an obvious mistake, we will contact you before dispatch rather than hold you to it.
We dispatch within the United Kingdom on working days, tracked and in unbranded packaging. Orders placed before 14:00 on a working day are dispatched the same day where stock allows, and in any event we will deliver within 30 days of confirming your order unless we agree a different date with you.
Risk in the goods passes to you on delivery. Ownership passes when we have received payment in full.
If you buy as a consumer, you may cancel your order for any reason up to 14 days after the day you — or someone you nominate — receive the goods. This is your right under the Consumer Contracts (Information, Cancellation and Additional Charges) Regulations 2013.
Two legal exceptions matter for what we sell. The right to cancel does not apply to sealed goods that are unsuitable for return for health or hygiene reasons once unsealed, or to goods liable to deteriorate rapidly. In practice: a vial whose seal is broken, or an item whose cold chain has been interrupted, cannot be returned under this section.
To cancel, email info@northscientific.co.uk within the 14-day period with your name, your order reference and a clear statement that you are cancelling — for example, “I cancel my order [reference]”. Then return the goods to our registered office address, unopened and with seals intact, within 14 days of telling us. You bear the direct cost of the return unless we tell you otherwise.
We will refund you within 14 days of receiving the goods back (or, if earlier, of you providing proof of posting), to your original payment method, without fee. We may reduce the refund to reflect any loss in value caused by handling beyond what was necessary to inspect the goods.
Under the Consumer Rights Act 2015, goods must be of satisfactory quality, fit for purpose and as described — which for us means matching the product name, format and fill weight described at the point of sale. If goods do not conform, your statutory remedies apply: within 30 days of delivery you may reject them for a full refund; after that you are entitled to a replacement, and to a refund where replacement is not possible.
If an order arrives damaged or incorrect, contact us within 14 days of delivery with your order reference and photographs where possible. For faulty, damaged or misdescribed items we pay the return postage and refund or replace in full, including any delivery charge you paid.
Lyophilised materials are shipped cold and must be transferred to the storage conditions printed on the label on arrival. We are not responsible for degradation caused by storage or handling after delivery. This does not affect your rights under section 9 where goods were already faulty when delivered.
If we break these terms or fail to use reasonable care and skill, we are responsible for the foreseeable loss and damage we cause you. We do not exclude or limit our liability where it would be unlawful to do so — including liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, or for your rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015.
We are not responsible for loss arising from use of the materials contrary to their research-use-only purpose, for business losses suffered by a consumer, or for delay or failure caused by events outside our reasonable control, provided we tell you promptly and take reasonable steps to limit the delay.
If you buy in the course of a business, this section applies in place of the consumer provisions: the cancellation right in section 8 does not apply; terms implied by statute or common law are excluded to the fullest extent permitted by law; our total liability for any order is limited to the price paid for it; and we are not liable for loss of profit, revenue or data, or for any indirect or consequential loss. You indemnify us against third-party claims arising from your use or onward supply of the materials contrary to these terms.
You are responsible for complying with the laws and institutional rules that apply to you. We supply within the United Kingdom only.

You have the rights the UK GDPR gives you, including access, rectification, erasure, restriction, portability and objection. To exercise any of them, email info@northscientific.co.uk. If you are unhappy with how we handle your data, you may complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.
If something is wrong, email info@northscientific.co.uk with your order reference. We acknowledge complaints within two working days and aim to resolve them within fourteen days. We are not obliged to use, and do not participate in, an alternative dispute resolution scheme; nothing prevents you from bringing a claim in court.
These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and proceedings may be brought in its courts. If you are a consumer living in Scotland or Northern Ireland, you may also bring proceedings in your local courts and rely on the mandatory consumer protections of the law where you live.
